ISCA West Bengal merged with MSO

Malda Town, West Bengal, 15 January. West Bengal largest Sufi Muslim Students body Islamic Students Cultural Association (ISCA) merged with India’s largest Sufi Students giant Muslim Students Organisation of India (MSO) here in a formal assembly at town hall English Bazar Malda Town.

Islamic Students & Cultural Association (ISCI) Patron in chief Pir Dr Shakeel Ahamad Rezvi and MSO National President Shujaat Ali Quadri signed a merger document here in the presence of a number of around 150 people, attended the gathering from the city and state. Organiser of the program and ISCA President Ashfaq Ahmed Aswi briefed on the occasion and find it a historic moment. He said there are around 10,000 students of Sufi sect is the proud member of the organisation and it is mingled with MSO that is already present in 22 states. He said the organisation is also under the patronage of Mufti Ghulam Samdani, Chief Mufti of Bengal.

Pir Dr Shakeel Ahamad Aswi is a reputed academician and founder of 12 different Islamic Madrasas in the area with 3 dedicated to girl education. He said there is no way to be live peacefully other than Sufism. Pir Sahab stated that professing Sufism is the main ingredient of the faith and it derives through only peace and co existence. He narrated as many examples of Islamic history that entrusting the professing peace. Pir Dr Shakeel Ahamad also welcomes the step of merging of two organisations with the same goal and objective.

Shujaat Ali Quadri, President of MSO briefed the audience on the history of MSO. He said the organisation dedicated to the Sufism and founded in 1977 at the Central Seminary of Aligarh Muslim University. The organisation is currently under the patronage of Pir Dr Ameen Miya Quadri, the retired Head of Department of Urdu Dept 9aligarh Muslim University) and the Chief caretaker of the Dargaah Barkatiya at Marehehra. Ameen Miyan Quadri founded a classic seminary with religious and the modern education dedicated under the tile of ‘Al Barkaat’ at Aligarh with a capacity of three thousand students in the campus. Shujaat with his favorite Aligarhi attire called students to be part of the merged organisation. He said that MSO is use to call at least one event in any of the unit at various offices. Quadri said that MSO has a core ideology of Sufism that is popular for the pluralism, inter faith dialogue and Nationalism. He reminded that we are on the verge of Republic Day and as per the tradition, MSO will celebrate Republic Day with the full devotion towards constitution. He asked students to explore constitution for the better knowledge of Indianness. He emphasized on National duties over rights.

Dr Sadrul Islam (Assistant Professor Maulana Azad Collge, Kolkata) said that there is a huge gap between Muslims and education. Real sense of development cannot be smelled with the current situation. We shall thrive not only the better education but also pursue to establish quality educational institutions.

Maulana AK Azad also attended the gathering. Program ended with National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ and duaa to Almighty to keep India prosper.
