MSO sent legal notice to Amish Devgan, We will not tolerate insult to Khwaja Saheb

Delhi / Ajmer: The country’s largest student and youth organization Muslim Student Organization of India (MSO) sent legal notice to Amish Devgan and News channel 18 in regards of objectionable remarks to the great Sufi saint Hazrat Khwaja Muinuddin Chisti (Rah) popularly known as Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz(Rah).

MSO National President Shujaat Ali Qadri said that the remarks were made by journalist Amish Devgan against the world famous Sufi saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti alias Garib Nawaz (Rah) under a communal agenda. He said that the way the liberal image of the Muslim rulers was damaged and on the same lines Sufi-saints are also being targeted.

He said that Amish Devgan’s disputed remarks made on the National Channel have not been made unknowingly or mistakenly. He said that right-wing and communal forces never want Hindu-Muslims to live together in the country. He told that people of all religions have been coming to the Dargah of Khwaja Saheb, which includes a large number of Hindus. He said that the Dargah of Khwaja Saheb is considered as a mark of peace, unity and Ganga-Jamuni Culture all over the world.

Quadri said that the Ajmer Dargah has been the target for the last few years. Some hindutva organizations called Dargah of Ajmer Shareef as temple. Not only this, to make the Dargah disputed, a big Hindu religious teacher even said that ‘Ajmer Dargah has a Shivalinga inside. He said this disputed comment by Amish Devgan is in the order of the above disputes which can no longer be tolerated at any cost.

Quadri said that police complaints have also been filed on behalf of MSO in several states of the country, namely Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, UP, Telangana, Karnataka etc. “Our organization has sent a legal notice to Amish Devgan and his channel and soon a High Court case will also be filed against Amish Devgan and News18,” the MSO president said.

Quadri said that the MSO will organize a webinar series to promote the Sufi education of Khwaja Saheb.
